When is the Great Migration?

A total of over 2 million animals migrate from the Maasai Mara into the Serengeti in Tanzania between July and October.

Important note regarding the cost of visiting the Maasai Mara

One thing to be aware of is that the cost to witness The Great Migration in Africa, in the Maasai Mara, has increased significantly for 2024. Park fees across Kenya increased in 2023, with the Maasai Mara's high season almost tripling in cost. In December 2023, costs increased again with the addition of a new community charge.

However, I know this is for the greater good of the Maasai Mara and its wildlife. Many of you who have been recently will be aware of the crowding of vehicles in some places and, then by extension, the impact on wildlife.

While the cost of experiencing the Great Migration in Africa may have increased, rest assured that every penny is a contribution to the conservation and preservation of the Maasai Mara and its inhabitants.
