Maasai Mara Kenya 2009
An edition of 75 in all sizes
African Buffalo Profile represents one of my earliest prints for sale shortly after I embarked on career as a full time wildlife photographer. It was taken in the Maasai Mara in 2009 and before I made it into the print it is today, I had this picture already set in my mind's eye. The picture was taken on a suitably dark green background, further reduced by pulling back the exposure levels in camera.
In 2009 it was unusual to see black and white pictures of wildlife. African buffalos lend themselves to black and white photography well, on account of their skin and horn textures. Of course they make wonderful portraits as well.
This portrait is one of two, of the same animal, the other also being available for purchase here as African Buffalo Portrait. and are available to be shown as a pair.
