The Ultimate Guide to Fine Art Wildlife Prints by David Lloyd
As a wildlife photographer, I’ve always believed that the ultimate destination for a photograph is print. A printed image has a depth and clarity that goes beyond what you see on a screen, allowing the wildlife and the moment to be experienced more fully.
For almost two decades, I’ve travelled across Kenya, India, Uganda and beyond, photographing wildlife as truthfully as I can. The fine art wildlife prints featured in my collection are the result of thousands of hours spent in the field, observing quietly and waiting for natural behaviour to unfold.
This page brings together everything you might want to know about my fine art wildlife prints, including how they’re made, what they stand for, and how to choose the right print for your home or workspace. It also links to a series of in-depth wildlife articles that offer stories behind the animals I photograph, and the prints available in each collection.
While it’s my personal preference for a black-and-white fine art style, which brings a timeless quality to wildlife photography, colour wildlife prints feature, also feature.
My wildlife prints are available in open and limited editions, making them suitable for both personal and professional spaces.
Why invest in photography prints of wildlife?
There’s something undeniably special about seeing an image come to life on paper. Printing allows wildlife photography to be experienced at a scale that does it justice, revealing details and subtleties that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Here are seven reasons why they make a valuable addition to your collection:
Eight reasons to invest in a fine art wildlife print
1. A tangible connection to nature
A photo print brings a moment from the wild into your daily life, creating a visual reminder of the landscapes and animals many of us rarely see up close.
2. Support ethical wildlife photography
Not all wildlife photography is created equally. I have always taken an ethical approach, ensuring that my presence does not disturb or alter an animal’s behaviour.
Whether I’m travelling alone or guiding a photography safari, I observe rather than chase. This not only respects the animals and their habitats but also results in the most authentic and natural wildlife portraits.
By purchasing one of my wildlife art prints, you’re investing in a beautiful piece of art but also supporting a deeper appreciation for conservation and ethical wildlife photography.
3. Authenticity: A true reflection of the wild
Every of the prints in my collection is a genuine moment from the wild, observed with patience and respect. It has not been artificially enhanced or digitally manipulated. My goal is to capture the essence of each animal: its presence, its personality, and its place in nature.
Created in camera, they preserve the natural realism of the moment. When you purchase one of my prints, you can be assured that what you see is exactly what I witnessed, whether captured in Africa, India, Uganda, or elsewhere.
4. Award-winning wildlife photography prints
If you’re looking for photographic wildlife art from an acclaimed wildlife photographer, you may be interested to know that my work has been recognised in some of the world's most prestigious photography competitions, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Nature’s Best.
Adding an award-winning wildlife print to your collection means owning a piece of photography that has been celebrated for its artistic and technical excellence.
5. Exclusivity and collector’s value
For collectors, exclusivity is key. My limited-edition wildlife art prints are hand-signed and numbered, making them highly sought-after.
Owning one is like securing a rare photographic moment—only a select few will ever have that image in their collection. When investing in a limited-edition print, collectors can be assured of exclusivity and long-term value.
Should prints and wall art be out of reach, then my wildlife photography books are the next best thing. Each of the sixty images in both of my books – ‘As Long As There Are Animals’ and ‘All Eyes Speak One Language’ is presented on its own page, as a stand-alone print deserves. These are fine art books, designed to display photographs to their maximum potential using the best paper and materials available.

6. A statement piece for your home or workspace
I believe that each image is more than just a picture; it is a powerful connection to the natural world. With a wildlife print on display in your home or workplace, you are bringing the beauty of nature indoors to enjoy every single day.
Fine art wildlife prints also introduce a sense of calm and connection into a room. Whether it’s the stillness of an elephant, the focus of a lioness, or the graphic beauty of a giraffe, a print becomes part of the space it’s in, quietly shaping the atmosphere.
In a living room, study or office, a fine art photographic wildlife print creates a striking focal point, bringing a sense of the wild into your space.
7. Timeless wildlife art
Wildlife art prints have an enduring appeal and are a timeless addition to any interior. With their natural elegance, both black and white wildlife prints and colour wildlife prints complement a range of styles, from contemporary to classic.
8. Museum-quality fine art wildlife prints
Every wildlife print in my collection is produced on gallery-grade fine art paper, ensuring exceptional tonal quality, depth, and long-term durability.
These are museum-quality wildlife prints, designed to maintain their beauty for a lifetime. With the right care, they can be enjoyed for generations to come.

How My Wildlife Prints Are Made
Every print goes through a careful process to ensure the highest quality:
printed on museum-grade archival fine art paper
individually checked for contrast, tonal range, and accuracy
hand-signed and numbered when part of a limited edition
securely packaged for international shipping
produced to ensure decades of longevity
I do not digitally alter or manipulate any wildlife behaviour. The image you see is the moment as it unfolded.
Choosing the Right Wildlife Print
If you’re unsure which wildlife print is right for you and your space, consider:
1. The feeling you want the print to evoke
Calm? Strength? Stillness? Movement?
2. Colour or black and white
Black and white emphasises mood, texture and expression. Colour can highlight environment and light.
3. The space where the print will hang
Large prints suit minimalist rooms; smaller prints suit gallery walls or personal spaces.
4. The animal that resonates most with you
Many people choose based on personal connection — a favourite species or memory.
5. Limited edition vs open edition
Limited editions offer exclusivity; open editions are more accessible.
If you need guidance, you’re welcome to get in touch. International shipping is available for all print orders.
Wildlife Photography, Conservation & Ethics
Much of my work is rooted in a respect for wildlife and the landscapes they live in. I never stage scenes or disturb animals to achieve a photograph. Patience and stillness are central to my practice.
A percentage of proceeds supports conservation initiatives and ethical safari tourism in Kenya, India and Uganda. If you choose to display a wildlife print, you’re helping raise awareness and appreciation for these animals, something that becomes increasingly important each year.
